Bioware konnte mit Dragon Age Inquisition bereits viele GotY Preise erhalten nun kommt ein besonderer hinzu. So wurde das Rollenspiel von der Oganisation der GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) für die Darstellung von LGBT-Charakteren ausgezeichnet.
So lobt die Organisation, dass im Spiel viele komplexe und einzigartige LGBT((Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender)-Charaktere an bedeutsamen Stellen in das Spiel integriert wurden. Explizit genannt werden dabei Sera, Dorian, Krem sowie Iron Bull, dessen Persönlichkeit und Darstellung von der Jury besonders hervorgehoben wird.

Standing well over seven feet tall with horns and a giant axe, the Iron Bull looks tailor-made to appeal to adolescent males fond of destruction, but underneath his imposing exterior he actually possesses a loyal heart and surprising enlightened outlook on gender and sexuality. Not only will he school the player on using respectful language if they misgender Krem, Bull is also openly bisexual and will end up dating Dorian if the player doesn't pursue either of them for a romance. Iron Bull demonstrates that classic, masculine video game archetypes and progressive views on human nature are not mutually exclusive.
Da Videospiele bisher keine eigene Kategorie in dieser Preisverleihung haben, erhält Dragon Age: Inquisition den "Special Recognition Award" der für herausragende Medien-Projekte vorgesehen ist, die bisher keine eigene Kategorie haben.
Die Verleihung der 26. GLAAD Media Awards findet am 21. März in Los Angeles und 9. Mai in New York statt.
